Every healing journey begins with a single step. Anna Merrill Cameron has spent many years guiding clients through their own transformative paths as an outpatient therapist, meeting each person with warmth, compassion, empathy, and when appropriate, humor. Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not something done *to* you, but something we accomplish together—as partners on a shared journey.
Anna holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She brings a person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based approach to her practice, recognizing that each client brings their own resilience and wisdom to the therapeutic process. Rather than focusing solely on problems, Anna works to illuminate the strengths and resources you already possess, helping you take the next step forward with confidence.
She specializes in anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar and mood disorders, life transitions, LGBTQ+ affirmative care, and women's issues. Anna works with adolescents and adults aged 15 to 65, drawing on a diverse range of evidence-informed modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, trauma-focused work, and expressive arts therapy. Although these are her areas of focus, she is equipped to support many other needs and welcomes the opportunity to explore how she might help.
Anna offers both in-person and online sessions, making therapy accessible to clients throughout the Richmond area and beyond. She offers a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can connect with her before your first appointment.
